The gold standard in metal roofing — concealed fasteners, superior weather resistance, and a 50+ year lifespan. Serving Western NC since 2008.

The defining characteristic is that all fasteners are concealed within these seams, completely hidden from view and protected from weather.
This concealed-fastener design eliminates the #1 cause of metal roof leaks: exposed screws that back out over time, leaving penetrations in the roof deck. Standing seam panels expand and contract freely with temperature changes without stressing fastener points — giving them a lifespan of 50-70 years in Western NC's mountain climate.
The Southern Appalachians and Carolina foothills present demanding conditions for roofing: freeze-thaw cycles, heavy snow loads at elevation, tropical storm remnants dropping 6+ inches of rain in 24 hours, and UV radiation intensified by mountain altitude. Standing seam handles all of it.
Every standing seam installation starts with a thorough deck inspection — we check for rot, structural issues, and improper ventilation before a single panel goes up. We install high-quality underlayment, proper eave and rake edge metal, and seal all penetrations before panels are set.
Panels are attached with concealed clips that allow thermal movement while locking the panel securely. All seams are mechanically locked for permanent weather tightness. Ridge caps, valley flashing, and wall transitions are handled with matching metal and proper sealant.
Standing seam metal roofing typically lasts 50-70 years with minimal maintenance. Many installations exceed this lifespan. By comparison, asphalt shingles last 15-25 years in Western NC's climate.
With proper installation over solid decking and underlayment, standing seam is no louder than shingles. The underlayment acts as a sound dampener. Without decking (direct-to-structure installation), rain noise is noticeable — but this isn't how we install residential roofing.
Standing seam typically runs $12-18 per square foot installed in Western NC, depending on roof complexity, pitch, and panel selection. This is higher than corrugated or shingles upfront, but the 50+ year lifespan makes it the lowest cost-per-year option over time. See our cost guide for details.
